Some Site Redesign Thoughts

NaBloPoMo, Painted Hearts 28 November 2009 1 Comment

It’s that time again when I’m suddenly hit by this huge urge to do a site redesign. I’ve been browsing design sites lately and since most of them do this whole “blog design showcase” posts, I’m tempted to redesign my site as well. However, once I’ve seen all these gorgeous and breathtaking layouts, my problem is maintaining that inspiration and productivity to work on the layout. One moment I’m all inspired and productive and then the next thing I know, they’re gone. In addition to that, I do love what I’ve come up with one moment and then the next moment, I suddenly start to hate it. It’s quite hard for me to maintain that “like” factor when it comes to the layouts I make.

What about you, guys? Do you also have any design-related problems?

New Layout and Typhoon Ondoy

No, I didn’t quit blogging. I just got caught up with real-life that I lost the urge to update. As for the events of the past few days, if you’re not yet aware of it, we’re currently recovering from Typhoon Ketsana, locally known as Typhoon Ondoy. I’m among those who were fortunate enough to not have been severely affected by the floods. However, last weekend was one of the worst experiences in my life. It’s not because we lost electricity for a day but it was because I was worrying about my classmates, friends and loved ones who were greatly affected. Living in a country who’s no stranger to typhoons and floods, Typhoon Ondoy really caught us off-guard. Metro Manila has never been flooded like this in decades so just imagine the extent of the damage caused by this typhoon. It’s all over the news and the number of casualties continues to rise. It’s heartbreaking to watch the news and listen to the stories of those who survived and how they lost their properties and everything else including a loved one. Classes have already been suspended for a week. To make things more worrisome and worse, there are 2 weather disturbances sighted. One of them is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility by tomorrow. To think we’re still recovering from this catastrophe and here comes another one. I really hope this one will not wreak havoc. Continue reading this entry…
