Lady GaGa’s The Fame Monster, is my album of the week and I have this feeling it could well be my album of the month considering that I couldn’t stop listening to the whole thing! Her album this time around talks about her fears – her fear of love, sex, suffocation, etc. Every track is so amazing including Telephone which features Beyoncé and I have to say that even the only ballad Speechless is among my favorite tracks. It’s a song she wrote for her father and it’s the same song she performed at the American Music Awards recently after her Bad Romance number. I’m attaching her performance of Speechless from the Ellen DeGeneres show since it’s such a beautiful song and clearly demonstrates her talent and how amazing she is live. :)

Jonathan Larson’s hit musical, Rent, will finally be shown here in Manila and I’m very, very excited! It’s an absolute dream come true to finally see this musical live. It was really sad for me when it had its final show on Broadway in September last year. It’s one of the musicals I’ve always wanted to see live^A and here is the opportunity and I’m just ecstatic! The musical will open on February 5, 2010.

Anyway, thanks to Broadway World, we now know who the official cast members of the Manila production are.

• Collins – OJ Mariano
• Maureen – Carla Guevara-Laforteza (Miss Saigon, Spelling Bee, Avenue Q)
• Joanne – Jenny Villegas
• Benny – Noel Rayos (Company, Hairspray)

I’m not familiar with most of the cast members or maybe because I just can’t remember their roles in the musicals I’ve seen where they were cast members. That’s why I can’t say much about them individually. I just hope they will all deliver. I, however, agree with casting Carla Guevara-Laforteza as Maureen. I’m so excited to see her again! I’ve seen her live already in Avenue Q and Spelling Bee and she was absolutely amazing! I completely adore her and I’m so glad she signed both my programmes for Avenue Q and Spelling Bee! :D I want it to be February already! But before that of course, my friends and I have to reserve our tickets for the show since we haven’t done that yet. Oops!
